Ongoing Astro-wise Activities at USM:

Current WP2 activities
----------------------

- creation of stand-alone C program for cosmic-ray detection
and correction on individual frames. Program uses multi-variate
fitting of Gaussian profiles. Although very CPU intensive this
method has been found to be very reliable, even in the case of
strongly extended cosmic-ray features. Current test show that
with Omega-cam like parameter settings, one can expect a performance
of about 15 seconds per CCD on a single node.

- initial stages of parameter definition for spectral energy distribution
and photometric redshift fitting tool. Still in the process of defining
the required database input, the python structures necessary to query
the SED fitting routines (complete), and the GUI with which the user
will access this program and display its results.

- Neeser will be in Groningen March 9-14 to create and test large data
  set (>4x10^6) database source queries.

WP1 + WP3 and Action Items from the Leiden meeting
--------------------------------------------------

- pipeline and database currently operating in our Beowulf environment,
with the ability to query data from python prompts.

- USM will act as a test case for a federated database between
Groningen and Munich. WFI data will be used to populate database.
