[News] New VST beowulf

Hi all,

It is a pleasure to inform that yesterday we receive the new VST Beowulf
cluster here in Capodimonte. The cluster is made of one master and 16 slave
node. The main characteristics are:

Master:

MB: Tyan 2880
CPU: 2 x Opteron 244
RAM: 6 GB DDR PC2700 ECC registered
DISK: 40 GB system
Case: rack mount 2U
Storage: 1.5 TB disks + 3Ware 7506

16 slaves:

MB: Tyan 2880
CPU: 2 x Opteron 244
RAM: 2 GB DDR PC2700 ECC registered
DISK: 40 GB system
Case: rack mount 2U

Network switch: 24 ports Gigabit

KVM: 18 Ports

All the slave nodes can house up to a total of 7 disks.
In the next days we will test it and report the AstroBench results.
