L.S.,

As of now, a base version of the Astro-Wise Environment is available which is
called AWBASE. The AWBASE version offers a stable and uniform code-base
which is to be used at all Astro-Wise sites. This means that Astro-Wise
users at the different sites have access to identical environments.
The AWBASE version will be continuously updated with approved selections
from the development version.

AWBASE comes with a `User and Development Manual' which includes a complete
example of datareduction with the Astro-Wise Environment. The example is a
step-by-step guide leading from raw calibration and science data via coadded
images to sourcelists. The example makes use of data from the Capodimonte
Deep Field as observed with WFI, for which we would like to thank the
people at the Osservatorio Astronomico di Capodimonte.
We would like to encourage everyone to start using the AWBASE environment.
For details, contact your local Astro-Wise expert.

                                                   Danny, Ewout, Fedor, Mike

Note: The AWBASE environment supersedes the `STABLE' tag which is now obsolete.
