[News] Status update - Astro-Wise machines down because of airconditioning failure at the computing centre

Dear Astro-Wiser,

The current situation is that the webservices and the database are
operational and the filesystem that is used by the dataservers can be
mounted. The dataserver machines themselves have not yet been started,
however. The millipede cluster - dpu.astro.rug.astro-wise.org - is being
reconstructed at the moment.
This means that you can not store or retrieve files or do any parallel
processing in Groningen right now. Although webservice and database access
are possible you might notice degraded performance because of checks
running in the background.

It is expected that the verification of the various hardware components
will continue for several hours, but machines will be in some usable state
somewhere tomorrow, Thursday, July 25th.
