[News] cvs.astro-wise.org upgrade; Astro-Wise Environment setup

Dear all,

Recently the *.astro-wise.org server has been upgraded. Therefore, if you
notice any unexpected behaviour since the upgrade please notify Kor or me.

One problem you might encounter concerns CVS. This problem has only occurred
with a cvs-1.11.1p1 client and CVS compression switched on.
If you do a `cvs update' it might happen that at the end of the update the
command stays idle and doesn't finish.
The permanent solution for this is to upgrade to a newer version of CVS.
A simple workaround is to disable CVS compression by not using the `-z'
option to CVS.


And then there is this attachment to this e-mail. It contains a step-by-step
explanation of the setup of the Astro-Wise Environment. This includes the
database, dataserver and parallel processing setup. After a succesful
installation you can ingest data and reduce WFI or INT data with multiple
users.

under Documents / HOWTO's.
